MTR (66) Announces Change of Alternate Director

Hong Kong-based MTR Corporation Limited (Stock Code: 66) has announced a change in its Alternate Director role linked to the office of the Secretary for Transport and Logistics (S for T&L). According to the announcement, current Alternate Director Mr. Kevin Choi will cease his duties on 27 October 2025, coinciding with his departure from the post of the Permanent Secretary for Transport and Logistics (PS for T&L).

Mr. Choi has confirmed no disagreement with MTR’s Board and indicated that nothing needs to be brought to the attention of the company’s securities holders regarding his cessation. Effective 17 November 2025, Mr. Yau Cheuk-hang (also known as Mr. Vic Yau), who will assume the position of PS for T&L, will become an Alternate Director to the S for T&L (Ms. Mable Chan).

Mr. Yau, aged 50, joined the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government in July 1997 and was promoted to Administrative Officer Staff Grade A in April 2025. He has served in various bureaux and departments, most recently as Director of the Northern Metropolis Co-ordination Office. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from The University of Hong Kong, a Master in Public Administration degree from Harvard University, and a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of London.

No specific term of service or emoluments from MTR are attached to Mr. Yau’s position as an Alternate Director, and he currently does not hold other directorships in listed companies. He also has no disclosed shareholding interest within the meaning of Part XV of the Securities and Futures Ordinance. Mr. Yau’s appointment does not fall under any of the discloseable requirements of Rules 13.51(2)(h) to (v) of the Listing Rules, and there is no related matter needing to be drawn to the attention of the company’s securities holders.
