Yanchang Petroleum International Limited (Yanchang Petro) issued a profit warning on 4 August 2026, flagging a weaker interim performance for the six months ended 30 June 2026.

Unaudited management accounts indicate revenue of approximately HK$7.02 billion, down about 30% from HK$10.00 billion in the prior-year period. The Group expects to post a net loss of roughly HK$40.20 million, compared with a HK$27.80 million loss a year earlier, translating into a 44% year-on-year deterioration.

Management attributes the revenue contraction mainly to a HK$2.96 billion drop in the China oil products segment. The unit suffered a 32% decline in sales volume as trading activity slowed and retail margins narrowed. Additionally, a foreign-exchange loss of about HK$10.70 million on USD-denominated term loans, triggered by USD/CAD volatility affecting the Canadian oil and gas production business, amplified the bottom-line shortfall.

The company plans to publish its full interim results on or about 27 August 2026 and has advised shareholders and potential investors to exercise caution when dealing in its securities.
