Coherent (COHR.US) announced on Monday the launch of its integrated optics platform, PhotonLink. This platform enables customers to source individual components and complete optical assemblies through a single partner, helping to simplify system design, streamline certification workflows, and reduce the complexity associated with integrating technologies from multiple suppliers.

PhotonLink brings together Coherent's extensive portfolio of key photonic technologies, along with precision assembly and testing capabilities, with the goal of delivering complete optical solutions for next-generation AI data centers. The company noted that the platform supports co-packaged optics (CPO), near-packaged optics (NPO), and emerging chip-to-chip interconnects.

Coherent's vertical integration capabilities span compound semiconductor materials, lasers, optical components, and specialty fibers, extending through final assembly and testing. Coherent CEO Jim Anderson remarked: "The next leap in AI requires not just faster chips, but entirely new ways of connecting. Customers need complete optical solutions, not just individual components. Coherent is uniquely positioned to integrate key technologies, assemble and test finished modules, and achieve scalable manufacturing. PhotonLink brings this capability to next-generation AI infrastructure."

As of Monday's market close, Coherent shares rose 1.31% to $321.52. The stock has gained 74% year-to-date.
