During the 2026 summer travel rush, the Shandong Province Airport Management Group (hereafter referred to as Shandong Airport Group) handled over 50,000 passenger flight takeoffs and landings, with total passenger throughput reaching approximately 7.5 million. The flight network connected passengers to 91 domestic cities and 14 international and regional destinations.

To meet peak summer demand, the group launched, resumed, or increased frequency on over 70 domestic routes. New routes compared to the same period last year included services to Shigatse, Yining, Qitai, Dali, Dehong, Holingol, Yan'an, Yuncheng, Yueyang, Hengyang, and Wuxi. Routes to Quanzhou, Jieyang, Taiyuan, Xishuangbanna, Zhanjiang, Korla, Lhasa, and Huizhou saw rapid year-on-year passenger growth, while routes to Guiyang, Urumqi, Kunming, Guangzhou, and Shanghai recorded significant increases in passenger volume.

Connectivity to popular domestic and international destinations was further strengthened, particularly to the Xinjiang, Yunnan, and South Korea markets. Jinan Airport now links to 7 cities in Xinjiang with over 100 weekly flights, seeing a 26% year-on-year increase in passenger traffic to the region. Airports under the group's umbrella connect to 5 cities in Yunnan with over 200 weekly flights, resulting in a 16% rise in passenger numbers. Gateway airports in Jinan, Yantai, Weihai, and Linyi opened, resumed, or added frequency on 5 passenger routes to South Korea, with a corresponding year-on-year traffic surge exceeding 60%.

Recognizing the rising demand from family trips, tourism, and educational travel, Shandong Airport Group actively implemented its "Sincere Service, Treating Passengers Like Family" philosophy. Leveraging the "Two Fast, One Excellent" initiative and the "Fly Easy in Shandong" service brand, the group introduced a series of standout service measures. Dedicated counters and rest areas were set up for elderly passengers, unaccompanied minors, first-time flyers, and university students, complete with convenient supplies.

During peak hours, check-in and security lanes were flexibly increased. Special processing zones were designated for late-arriving and group travelers. Airport shuttle bus frequencies were boosted, and volunteers were organized to provide guidance, traffic management, and luggage assistance. Multiple cooling stations offered complimentary herbal tea and heatstroke prevention supplies, while new summer-specific meal options were added. Terminal air conditioning was finely tuned, equipment inspections and disinfection of public areas were stepped up, and business operations were standardized to ensure clear pricing. Promotional tie-ins offering discounts on flights combined with scenic spots, dining, and car rentals were launched, alongside the creation of cultural and creative leisure zones to enhance the overall passenger experience.
