Total SA and Gas Natural have signed a memorandum of understanding concerning offshore exploration activities in Egypt.

The memorandum covers an extensive offshore area in northwestern Egypt.

The agreement establishes a framework for technical cooperation, including preliminary exploration and subsurface assessment activities.

Nicolas Mavila, Senior Vice President of Exploration at Total SA, stated: "We are pleased to initiate this collaboration with Gas Natural, which reflects our shared desire to further strengthen the partnership with the Arab Republic of Egypt. This agreement will help assess the exploration potential in Egypt's deepwater areas."
