Tandem Diabetes Care (Nasdaq: TNDM) has announced that its t:slim X2 insulin pump is now compatible with the Abbott Laboratories (NYSE: ABT) FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus continuous glucose monitoring sensor, with a formal launch in five international markets.
This release provides t:slim X2 users in the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Sweden, Finland, and Italy with additional CGM options.
The FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus sensor can be worn for up to 15 days, transmitting glucose readings to the insulin pump every minute, with data also viewable on the Tandem t:slim mobile app, offering users multiple convenient ways to monitor their current glucose trends.
The t:slim X2 insulin pump is powered by Control-IQ+ technology, the latest version of Tandem's advanced hybrid closed-loop algorithm, which adjusts insulin delivery every five minutes based on predicted glucose values.
This system is the only insulin pump featuring the AutoBolus function, which automatically calculates and delivers correction boluses to help manage glucose fluctuations from missed meal-time doses.
Dr. Jordan Pinsker, Chief Medical Officer at Tandem Diabetes Care, stated that users of automated insulin delivery desire flexibility in their devices. The addition of Abbott's latest-generation sensor expands CGM choices for users of Control-IQ+ technology.

Tandem Diabetes Care plans to extend compatibility to more countries by 2026, including Belgium, the Netherlands, and Germany, at which time customers in those nations will be notified.
