New monitoring data indicates a fresh landslide has blocked a river downstream, potentially creating another barrier lake situation in Tibet.

According to the Ministry of Emergency Management, ongoing surveillance drones have detected a significant slope collapse roughly 2.8 kilometers below the existing Pusrepuqiangzangbu barrier lake, which is now forming a new natural dam and subsequent lake.

In response to the evolving hazard, the ministry has deployed specialized "Yuyan Emergency" member units with both reconnaissance and heavy-lift drones, providing continuous observation of the developing blockage while coordinating risk assessments and supporting local disaster response operations.

Late on the evening of August 29th, front-line drone feeds confirmed the new landslide event. Following an urgent expert consultation, authorities have already evacuated all rescue and relief personnel working near the Gyirong Port area to safe locations.
