BUSYMING (01768) saw its shares climb more than 6% before midday. As of the latest update, the stock was trading 5.89% higher at HK$384.80, with turnover reaching HK$69.746 million.

In recent days, market regulators across multiple regions have launched targeted inspections on leading bulk snack retailers. Brands such as Zhao Yiming and Haoxianglai have come under scrutiny amid controversies over "short weights" and improper measurement practices.

In response, BUSYMING and its industry peer Wanchen issued official statements on September 7, stepping up front-end store management controls to mitigate the fallout. Daiwa believes the synchronized actions represent a timely response, which should help solidify customer trust-essential for the long-term sustainability of franchise operations.

Daiwa also observed that BUSYMING and Wanchen accelerated their pace of new store openings during July and August, averaging roughly 1,200 locations per month each, while same-store sales growth during the summer holiday period remained steady.

The firm noted that as the comparison base rises from the fourth quarter of 2026 through 2027, market concerns over same-store sales growth pressure are increasing. Investors are now waiting for signs of successful category expansion and further optimization of store-level unit economics.
