On June 15, the Education Bureau of Qilihe District in Lanzhou released the "Implementation Plan for Compulsory Education Enrollment in Qilihe District for 2026."

The plan specifies that urban schools in the district are set to enroll 144 first-grade classes with 7,836 eligible children for the 2026 academic year. Rural schools have sufficient capacity and will accept all eligible children.

Online registration will be conducted uniformly through the Gansu Government Service Website or the "Gankuaiban" App from July 2 to July 4.

Regarding enrollment targets, primary schools will admit children who are six years old by August 31, 2020 (inclusive), and hold household registration in the district, as well as eligible migrant children.

For junior high schools, admission is granted without entrance exams to 2026 graduates from primary schools within the district, district-registered primary school graduates studying elsewhere who need to return for further education, and eligible non-local migrant children graduating from primary schools who wish to continue their studies in Qilihe District.

This year, the admission process will continue to follow five sequential batches: those with property ownership and household registration (Category A), those with household registration but no property (first type, individual household registration, Category B), those with property but no household registration (Category C), those with household registration but no property (second type, public collective household registration, Category D), and those with neither household registration nor property (Category E).

If the number of applicants for a school does not exceed its enrollment plan, all will be admitted. If it exceeds the plan, admission will be granted in the order listed above until the quota is full.

Children not admitted will be assigned to schools by the district education bureau based on the principle of "relative proximity and available space." Those who do not accept the assigned placement will be considered to have voluntarily waived their eligibility for public school admission.

The online registration process involves "online application, on-site verification, independent admission" supplemented by "assignment-based admission."

Guardians must log into the Gansu Government Service Website or the "Gankuaiban" App, enter the "Efficient Handling of One Matter" section, select "One-Stop Service for Education Enrollment" to fill in information, and choose one zoned school.

Schools will conduct online preliminary reviews on July 5 and notify parents via SMS.

The plan also outlines the required documents for registration for various categories of eligible children.

For migrant workers' children, documents required include the original household register, the guardian's residence permit (which must be obtained by June 30, 2026, inclusive), property ownership certificate or rental contract. The "Gansu Temporary Residence Registration Certificate" is not valid.

Preferential policy beneficiaries must provide relevant documents and certificates from the Municipal Double Support Office or the Municipal Education Bureau.

District-registered children who need to defer enrollment due to health conditions must have their parents or legal guardians submit an application for approval and filing with the district education bureau's education office.
