Tarim Oilfield Surpasses 400 Billion Cubic Meters in Gas Supply to Central and Eastern China

China's Tarim Oilfield announced on the 13th that it has cumulatively supplied over 400 billion cubic meters of natural gas to central and eastern regions of the country.

The total volume has reached 400.03394 billion cubic meters, providing a solid guarantee for the production and domestic use of gas for nearly 500 million people across 15 provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions, as well as over 120 large and medium-sized cities downstream.

According to calculations by the Tarim Oilfield, this 400 billion cubic meters of natural gas is equivalent to replacing approximately 510 million tons of standard coal, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by about 520 million tons, and sequestering carbon equivalent to that of about 75 million hectares of forest over an entire year. This is akin to "planting" a continuous giant forest area twice the size of the Yangtze River Delta region.

To meet the natural gas demand of downstream provinces and cities, Tarim Oilfield has taken multiple measures in recent years to enhance the supply capacity of the West-to-East Gas Pipeline through methods such as refined development.

The "First Source of the West-to-East Gas Pipeline," the Kela 2 Gas Field, has pushed beyond the development limits of conventional strong water-drive gas reservoirs, achieving high-quality development throughout its lifecycle. It has produced 7 high-yield gas wells with cumulative production exceeding 10 billion cubic meters each, forming China's largest cluster of 10-billion-cubic-meter high-yield gas wells. It maintains the record for the highest average single-well production in China, further solidifying the "confidence" of the West-to-East Gas Pipeline.
