Emergency response operations continue across Suichuan County as authorities work around the clock to restore essential services after Typhoon Shadel brought relentless rainfall and triggered a devastating mudslide on September 5th in the Shixia area of Mingkeng Village, Gaoping Town.

As of 6 PM on September 7th, notable progress has been made in the county's "four connections" restoration initiative. Road repairs have advanced significantly, with 230 landslide sites cleared along national and provincial highways. Only one stretch, the Yingpanwei section of the S546 line, remains under active repair. Local road networks fared worse, sustaining 1,601 damage points, including 424 on county-level roads, yet all but the X051 Hezuo line between Huangjin Village and Yangxi Village have been reopened to traffic.

Recovery efforts have also restored village-level access to utilities and communication. Of the county's 297 administrative villages, 287 now have network connectivity, 280 have power restored, and 254 have running water again. Access roads have been reopened to 285 villages, representing over 96% of the total. The remaining 12 villages are still awaiting road access, while 22 lack network service, 29 remain without electricity, and 55 are still without potable water.

Relief and reconstruction work is steadily progressing across the county, with all crews mobilised to expedite the restoration of normal living conditions for the affected communities.
