SiteOne Landscape Supply's stock plummeted 6.95% intraday on Wednesday, following the release of its first-quarter 2026 earnings results that fell short of analyst expectations.
The company reported a quarterly loss of $0.60 per share, which was worse than the FactSet consensus estimate for a loss of $0.45 per share. Revenue for the quarter came in at $940.1 million, also missing the analyst estimate of approximately $983 million. While the loss narrowed slightly from the same period a year ago and revenue showed a marginal increase, the significant misses against expectations appear to have driven investor sentiment.
Adding to the negative pressure, the company indicated that it believes overall end market demand will be down modestly for the full year 2026. Detailed reports attributed the sales shortfall partly to unfavorable weather conditions across several regions, which led to lower sales volumes.
