A senior executive at Boeing stated on Wednesday that the company expects to begin delivering enhanced 787-9 and 787-10 Dreamliner aircraft to airlines in the first half of this year. These improvements will enable longer flight durations or increased cargo capacity.

Darren Hulst, Vice President of Commercial Marketing at Boeing, indicated that the modifications to the wide-body aircraft's maximum takeoff weight will allow airlines to extend their flight range by 400 miles (643 kilometers) or boost their cargo load by 5 to 6 metric tons.

He remarked to journalists during the Singapore Airshow that these specific aircraft are already integrated into the production system and are undergoing the certification process, with deliveries projected to start in the first half of the year.

Hulst also mentioned that the aircraft manufacturer anticipates the larger 777X model will achieve certification in the latter half of the year, though its entry into service will likely be delayed until the following year.
