Libya's state-owned National Oil Corporation announced on Facebook that members of the Petroleum Facilities Guard have blocked the entrances to the Zawiya refinery and the Brega Petroleum Marketing Company, forcing the refinery to halt operations.

This disruption comes at a time when the valve number seven along the Hamada section of the Sharara crude oil pipeline remains shut. The National Oil Corporation cautioned that if the obstruction persists, it will lead to a "complete paralysis of the facility's operations."

The company stated that to fulfill its contractual obligations, "if the valve remains closed, the company's board of directors is preparing to declare force majeure within the coming hours."
