On September 10, China Construction Bank Corporation held a launch event for innovative digital yuan application scenarios at the financial services exhibition zone of the 2026 China International Fair for Trade in Services. The bank officially introduced two cutting-edge scenarios focused on smart vehicle management and smart campus solutions, marking another practical step in its commitment to supporting the country's digital agenda and advancing financial services that prioritize public welfare through technology-enabled innovation.
The smart vehicle management scenario is built on China Construction Bank Corporation's controlled payment platform for digital yuan. It integrates contract terms, regulatory requirements, and internal policies for official vehicle usage into the system, enabling automatic execution. This framework achieves "C-end vehicle use, B-end payment, real-time oversight, and full journey tracking," ensuring every public vehicle expense is verifiable, traceable, and fully compliant. Currently, this scenario is being piloted across six branches of China Construction Bank Corporation, with more than 20 official vehicles already in operation under this system.
The smart campus scenario leverages the digital yuan's protocol-based payment capabilities, allowing students to link their facial recognition data, campus cards, or digital yuan hardware wallets to their parents' digital yuan wallets. When students make purchases, the system automatically deducts funds in real time from the parents' wallets, with the entire process conducted online without any need for pre-recharging. This solution effectively addresses three major pain points: students losing their cards, parents lacking visibility into their children's spending, and schools struggling with cumbersome reconciliation processes. To date, this scenario has been deployed across 316 schools in 17 provinces and cities, serving approximately 630,000 students.
China Construction Bank Corporation has participated in the trade fair for several consecutive years. This year, under the theme "Smart Banking with CCB, Excellence in Long-Term Development," the bank has created a comprehensive financial services exhibition area that highlights its achievements in areas such as the "five major financial articles," cross-border finance, urban renewal, and artificial intelligence. The exhibition also features an immersive digital yuan experience zone, allowing visitors to experience firsthand the "safe and convenient" nature of digital yuan payments.
Looking ahead, China Construction Bank Corporation will continue to leverage the open cooperation platform provided by the trade fair, deepen its exploration of scenario-based needs in business operations and campus-related public services, and consistently introduce financial innovation outcomes to support the high-quality development of digital finance.
