The talk moved beyond generic advice, zeroing in on everyday online risks and offering practical, case-based guidance for seniors, working-age adults, and migrant workers, with the goal of protecting both personal assets and private data.

Key topics included secure smartphone usage, safeguarding personal information, and the dangers of scanning unknown QR codes. Attendees were cautioned against granting excessive app permissions, clicking suspicious links, or connecting to unsecured public Wi-Fi. They were also reminded not to share sensitive details like ID numbers or home addresses carelessly in group chats or on social media, and to stay alert to traps such as "scan-to-win" giveaways or cash red packet scams.

The session broke down four common telecommunications fraud schemes: fake after-sales refund calls, online task-based rebate scams, fraudulent pension investment plans, and impersonation of acquaintances requesting loans. Facilitators exposed the mechanics of these tricks, clarified that participating in rebate tasks is against the law, and urged villagers to remain wary of any request for verification codes, transfers, or promises of high returns with guaranteed principal. They stressed that any financial transaction should be confirmed in person or via phone call to verify identity.

Held in an interactive Q&A format with real-life examples, the event addressed public concerns such as identifying unknown callers, dealing with pop-up ads, avoiding untrusted app downloads, and evaluating online loan requests. It also helped dispel misconceptions like "small losses don't matter" or "shared information must be true," erasing digital safety blind spots and further cementing the community's defense line against cyber threats.
