Skin repair equipment developer Avita Medical (RCEL.US) announced that its next-generation autologous cell harvesting device, the RECELL GO system, has received CE certification under the European Union Medical Device Regulation (EU MDR). Boosted by this news, Avita Medical shares surged nearly 10% in Monday's pre-market trading as of publication time.

The RECELL GO system is an advanced device used for harvesting autologous cells to treat burns and skin defects. Compared to traditional skin grafting, RECELL offers superior advantages including improved healing, reduced donor skin usage, decreased pain, faster wound closure, better aesthetic outcomes, fewer required surgeries, and shorter hospital stays for certain burns.

RECELL-GO simplifies the preparation of skin cell spray, reduces training requirements, improves operating room efficiency, and ensures optimal cell yield and viability.
