ICBC Chairman Liao Lin Meets with Shinhan Financial Group Chairman Jin Yutong

On January 5, Liao Lin, Chairman of the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC), met with Jin Yutong, Chairman of Shinhan Financial Group. The two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on topics including the global macroeconomic and financial landscape, as well as deepening business cooperation. Zhang Weiwu, Vice President of ICBC, also attended the meeting.

ICBC and Shinhan Financial Group are key strategic partners, having achieved substantial results from their collaboration across multiple business areas, effectively serving the broader context of China-South Korea economic and trade relations. Both parties agreed to thoroughly implement the important consensus reached by the heads of state of the two countries, fully leverage multilateral financial cooperation platforms for mutual empowerment, and capitalize on their respective strengths. They will deepen practical cooperation in fields such as artificial intelligence, fintech, equity investment, capital markets, and cross-border RMB business. This collaboration aims to help explore new areas for bilateral economic and trade cooperation, jointly promote the stable and long-term development of the China-South Korea strategic cooperative partnership, and contribute more significantly to regional economic development.

Shinhan Financial Group is a leading comprehensive financial group in South Korea, with businesses spanning banking, securities, insurance, and other sectors. It serves as the chair unit of the Financial Industry Committee under the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, with Jin Yutong acting as the Chairman of that committee.
