CaoCao Inc. (CaoCao) announced the appointment of Professor Joseph Sifakis—internationally renowned computer scientist and Turing Award laureate—as Chief Science Advisor to its newly established CaoCao Artificial Intelligence Innovation Center.

The Innovation Center is a joint venture between CaoCao and the Shanghai Artificial Intelligence Research Institute (SAIRI). It will focus on artificial intelligence, autonomous driving and intelligent mobility systems, supplying core academic support, an international research perspective and strategic planning for CaoCao’s transition to an AI-driven technology model.

Professor Sifakis is recognized as a pioneer in trustworthy artificial intelligence and complex systems. His research on safety, reliability and verifiability of intelligent systems has been widely applied in safety-critical sectors such as aerospace and industrial control. The appointment marks his first deep engagement with a Chinese technology company and is expected to strengthen CaoCao’s efforts to develop safe, reliable and verifiable Robotaxi and next-generation intelligent mobility platforms.

The new Innovation Center complements CaoCao’s RoboX strategy, released in 2026, which targets the creation of a world-leading physical AI operations platform by integrating intelligent custom vehicles, intelligent driving technology and intelligent operations. The Board views AI as a core strategic driver for the company’s evolution into a world-leading AI technology enterprise.

The announcement was issued by CaoCao’s Board of Directors on 28 June 2026. Current Board composition includes one executive director, five non-executive directors and three independent non-executive directors.
