Complaints included "it crashes and won't open, I can't lock my car now," with some owners directly messaging the company urging it to "fix your App quickly."

The issue appears to be primarily affecting the iOS version of the application, while the Android version remains functional and accessible at this time. As of the latest update, the company had not issued an official statement regarding the incident.

When contacted for comment, a NIO customer service representative stated that technical staff are working on a resolution, but a definitive conclusion or fix has not yet been provided. The representative advised, "It's best to have a car key, whether it's a physical key or a card key. If you have a spare Android phone available, you can temporarily use it without issue by downloading and logging into the NIO App."
