Stock Track | Lattice Semiconductor Plunges 6.52% in After-Hours as Pre-Earnings Rally and AMI Integration Prompt Profit-Taking Despite Big Q2 Beat

Lattice Semiconductor shares tumbled 6.52% in post-market trading on Tuesday, surrendering gains after the company reported second-quarter results that handily topped Wall Street expectations. The decline came despite adjusted earnings of $0.53 per share, well above the $0.44 consensus, and revenue of $201.1 million that exceeded the $185.5 million estimate.

The sell-off appears driven by a classic "buy the rumor, sell the news" reaction. The stock had already surged 8.75% during the regular session ahead of the earnings release, suggesting the market had largely priced in a strong report. Additionally, the company's recently completed $1.65 billion acquisition of AMI in late July has introduced near-term integration pressures, likely triggering profit-taking among investors who had ridden the pre-earnings rally.

Despite the after-hours slide, the company's forward outlook remained robust, with third-quarter guidance calling for adjusted EPS of $0.54 to $0.58 on revenue of $210 million to $230 million, both comfortably above analyst projections.
