CIMC Named in U.S. DOJ Antitrust Case Involving Dry Shipping Containers

China International Marine Containers (Group) Co., Ltd. (CIMC) disclosed that the United States Department of Justice (DOJ) on 19 May 2026 (U.S. time) filed charges alleging CIMC and three individuals conspired to restrict output and fix prices of certain unrefrigerated shipping containers. The individuals cited are Chairman Mai Boliang, Vice-President Huang Tianhua and employee Wan Yongbo.

As of the Hong Kong announcement dated 20 May 2026, CIMC stated neither the company nor the named individuals have been served with any legal documents. The group’s daily operations “remain normal in all material respects,” and management will continue to evaluate the situation and comply with ongoing disclosure obligations under Hong Kong Listing Rules 13.10 and 13.51(2).

Shareholders and prospective investors are advised by the board to exercise caution when dealing in CIMC securities.

The board currently comprises one executive director (Mai Boliang), six non-executive directors and three independent non-executive directors.
