BYD has officially switched on its 10,000th fast-charging station, with the flagship location in Shenzhen Longhua serving as the centerpiece of this achievement. This milestone positions the automaker as the domestic leader in self-built charging infrastructure, boasting the largest network, the quickest accumulation to 10,000 stations, and the widest geographic coverage in China.

Wang Junbao, General Manager of BYD's fast-charging business, highlighted that the 10,000 stations now span 332 cities, with 4,228 of these facilities built as "wish stations" that fulfilled the site requests of 74,281 individual users. First-tier and second-tier cities have achieved complete coverage, with residents in key urban centers like Shenzhen, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Xi'an, and Chongqing finding a fast-charging station every 3 kilometers on average. In third-tier and fourth-tier cities, coverage is also at 100 percent, with stations located within roughly 4 kilometers of city centers.

Since the launch of its fast-charging network less than six months ago, BYD has registered over 1.83 million users, nearly one-third of whom drive vehicles from other brands. The network has already delivered more than 210 million kilowatt-hours of cumulative charging energy. Demonstrating the system's efficiency, a single charging point at the Beijing Jindu Auto City station on August 22 achieved a daily throughput of 2,983 kilowatt-hours, serving 54 vehicles with one charging gun in a single day.

Adhering to an open and shared approach, BYD is collaborating with partners to build a robust charging ecosystem. The company has established deep partnerships with major energy firms including Sinopec, PetroChina, China Resources, Shell, and TELD. In a notable example, the first flagship fast-charging station in East China, developed jointly with Sinopec's Yijie brand, is now operational at Shanghai Hongqiao. To enhance the user experience, BYD is also working with Alipay, Amap, and JD.com to streamline seamless payment, improve mapping services, and enrich station amenities.

BYD shows no signs of slowing down, targeting the completion of 20,000 fast-charging stations across China by the end of this year. Internationally, the company is steadily advancing its global footprint with plans for 6,000 fast-charging stations overseas, with initial installations already underway in Europe and the Americas.
