JPMorgan Chase's Asia-Pacific head has stated that the bank will continue hiring in the region at a similar pace through 2027, following a more than 20% surge in corporate banking revenue in the area this year.

Speaking from JPMorgan Chase's Singapore office, executives Oliver Brinkmann and Kerwin Clayton revealed in an interview that after expanding the Asia-Pacific corporate banking team by 20% in 2025, the U.S. lender is now finalizing plans to increase the regional corporate banking workforce by approximately 15% this year.

According to the executives, the hiring will cover teams serving mid-sized to large enterprises, the innovation economy, financial institutions, and non-bank financial institutions. "We plan to continue hiring at a similar pace in 2027," Clayton stated. "This spans all our business lines. While conditions vary by region, it involves many countries."

Driven by Asian companies' overseas expansion and increased investments in artificial intelligence, data centers, and supply chains, JPMorgan Chase's Asia-Pacific corporate banking business has seen year-to-date growth of well over 20%. "The momentum this year is even stronger," Brinkmann said. "Across all sectors in the Asia-Pacific region, growth rates are well above 20%."
