The "Fujian Province '16th Five-Year Plan' High-Quality Development Action Plan for the Photonics Industry Cluster (Draft for Comments)" has recently been released for public consultation. It proposes that by 2030, the total operating revenue of the province's photonics industry cluster should exceed 300 billion yuan, initially establishing a complete industrial chain and ecosystem with international influence. In the field of optical communications, to meet the demands of scenarios such as AI computing center interconnects and high-speed data center interconnects, the focus will be on developing high-performance coherent optical systems (OCS), linear-drive pluggable optical modules (LPO), near-packaged optics (NPO), co-packaged optics (CPO), multi-channel low-power optical communications integrating Micro LED and CPO, and silicon photonics technology. Efforts will be accelerated to advance the research, development, and industrialization of key products and technologies, including ≥200G EML, ≥800mW high-power lasers, and ≥800G high-speed optical modules. Support will be provided for leading enterprises to expand into specialized segments such as submarine optical cables and high-performance optical cables, continuously improving and enhancing the photonics industry chain.
