On August 5th, the "Chuanying Weilai" youth employment and entrepreneurship platform kicked off the third season of its "Weilai" internship program, with the Sichuan Provincial Employment Bureau releasing over 4,000 internship and apprenticeship positions (including some formal job openings). This initiative provides college graduates and other young job seekers with a broad range of options for gaining work experience and finding employment.

According to the Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security, Sichuan is currently conducting a 2026 action campaign to support employment services for college graduates and other young people. The campaign, which focuses on recent graduates not yet hired and other young job seekers, offers a comprehensive suite of public employment services. These include real-name registration, career guidance, skill development, job matching, targeted assistance for those in need, and rights protection, all delivered through a personalized, point-to-point, and full-chain approach.

A key component of this campaign is the rollout of internship positions. Internships are a crucial way to accumulate workplace experience and enhance employability. The province will continue to increase the recruitment of internship positions, engaging industry leaders, specialized and innovative small and medium enterprises, public institutions, social organizations, and urban and rural communities to develop high-quality internship opportunities. The goal is to create a total of 64,000 internship positions across the province this year, an increase of 1,000 from last year. Among these, at least 8,000 positions will be in community settings, encouraging young graduates and other job seekers to gain experience and grow at the grassroots level.

Eligible applicants for these internship positions include college graduates who have been out of school for less than two years and unemployed youth aged 16 to 24. Internship periods range from 3 to 13 months. During this time, the host organization is required to provide a basic living allowance to the intern, which must be at least equal to the local minimum wage. Furthermore, interns will be covered by personal accident insurance to ensure their safety.

In addition to the positions announced by the Provincial Employment Bureau, several cities within Sichuan, including Yibin, Dazhou, Mianyang, and Aba Prefecture, have also recently released information for internship recruitment. These opportunities are available with well-known state-owned enterprises, government agencies, public institutions, community organizations, and a wide range of companies and industrial parks. Interested individuals can check the official websites of their local employment departments. The "Chuanying Weilai" platform will also continue to partner with the Provincial Employment Bureau to release more internship positions on a regular basis.
