Ford Recalls Over 350,000 F-Series Pickup Trucks in US Due to Dashboard Display Malfunction

Ford has announced a major recall initiative in the US market affecting 355,656 F-series pickup trucks from model years 2025-2026 (F-550 SD, F-450 SD, F-350 SD, F-250 SD) and 2025 F-150 models to address dashboard display screen software defects.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), affected vehicles may experience blank screens in the instrument panel cluster (IPC) during startup, preventing proper display of safety-related warning lights and instrument information, thereby increasing accident risk. Ford stated it will remedy this defect through dealership services or over-the-air software updates and has not received any accident reports directly related to this issue.

Notably, earlier this month Ford initiated another recall involving over 103,000 F-150 pickup trucks from model years 2023-2025 due to potential axle bolt fracture hazards. NHTSA investigation revealed that problematic bolts could cause damage to rear axle hub spline components, resulting in vehicle skidding or drive power interruption, with extreme cases potentially causing vehicle rollaway when the parking brake is not engaged.

Ford authorized dealers will replace the problematic rear axle assemblies free of charge and cover all repair costs within the warranty period. This recall encompasses approximately 1% of F-150 inventory in the US market, with vehicle owners able to schedule inspection services through official channels.

As one of America's best-selling vehicle models, the F-150 series has faced multiple recalls in recent years due to powertrain and braking system issues. The combination of these two recall events underscores the quality control challenges Ford faces.
