UOB Holds 84th AGM; Approves Final Dividend of 0.71 Singapore Dollars per Share

United Overseas Bank Ltd. convened its 84th Annual General Meeting on Apr, 17 2026 at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore. All 11 resolutions on the agenda were passed by poll, including the adoption of the FY2025 financial statements, payment of directors’ fees and reappointment of Ernst & Young LLP as auditor.

Shareholders approved a final one-tier, tax-exempt dividend of 0.71 Singapore dollars per ordinary share for FY2025, bringing the total dividend for the year to 1.81 Singapore dollars per share and maintaining a core payout ratio of 50%. The board reiterated its previously announced plan to return 3 billion Singapore dollars of surplus capital to shareholders between 2025 and 2027, to be executed through a mix of share buy-backs and special distributions.

Chief Executive Officer Wee Ee Cheong reported FY2025 operating profit of 7.7 billion Singapore dollars. Total assets rose 6 % to 572 billion Singapore dollars, gross customer loans increased 4 % to 352 billion Singapore dollars and customer deposits grew 5 % to 426 billion Singapore dollars. The bank ended the year with a Common Equity Tier 1 ratio of 15.1 % and a net stable funding ratio of 116 %.

Management outlined strategic priorities centred on accelerating growth in ASEAN, doubling wealth-management business, expanding regional wholesale banking, and investing in artificial-intelligence capabilities for staff. UOB also highlighted its 90th-anniversary commitment to allocate 30 million Singapore dollars to education programmes and, together with the Wee Foundation, a 110 million Singapore-dollar gift to Nanyang Technological University.
