Since its founding, Neolix has been oriented toward becoming a robotics company from day one. On August 21, founder Yu Enyuan gave his first systematic explanation of this positioning at the 2026 World Robot Conference forum. He admitted that when starting the company in 2018, "we couldn't talk about robotics — the concept was too premature to attract investment, so we classified the company under the autonomous driving sector." However, autonomous driving only addresses the transportation aspect, which represents merely one-third of the challenge. The tasks of loading, unloading, and handling must be solved with robots.
Yu Enyuan broke down the cost structure of logistics on-site: transportation, loading/unloading, and handling each account for roughly one-third of total costs. Scaled globally, 530 million logistics workers generate annual labor costs exceeding $5.8 trillion — with $2.2 trillion for transportation, $1.3 trillion for warehousing and sorting, and $1 trillion for loading, unloading, and handling. "While the urban delivery market can be divided into over 1,000 scenarios, they all ultimately come down to solving these three problems: transportation, loading/unloading, and handling."
Yu Enyuan disclosed a set of figures: as of August 20, Neolix's cumulative autonomous driving mileage has surpassed 220 million kilometers, with daily additions now exceeding 1 million kilometers. "In the global autonomous driving industry, in terms of mileage, Neolix is already the world's largest autonomous driving fleet," Yu said. In fleet size as well, Neolix also ranks first globally. He revealed that Neolix currently operates more than 27,000 autonomous vehicles, with expectations to surpass 50,000 by the end of this year and reach 150,000 next year. "If we broaden our perspective to the entire embodied intelligence and L4 autonomous driving field, autonomous logistics vehicles represent the first market to achieve large-scale commercial deployment."
Using this as a foundation, Yu said Neolix has leveraged autonomous driving technology to reduce costs and improve efficiency in the transportation segment. "Next, we will solve the loading/unloading problem, then tackle handling, bringing down costs and raising efficiency in both areas. Neolix's ultimate goal is to achieve full automation — from transportation to loading/unloading and handling to shelf placement or delivery to the customer's doorstep."
Yu elaborated on the four embodied forms Neolix envisions around logistics: the robovan (already deployed at scale), semi-embodied loading/unloading robots, semi-embodied shelf-stocking robots, and the final form — fully embodied robots. He revealed that Neolix is currently condensing its autonomous vehicle technology into a new robot product — a compact robot that can truly enter indoor spaces and go upstairs. "It can depart from a convenience store one kilometer away, drive into a residential complex, take the elevator upstairs, and deliver goods to the customer's doorstep. Alternatively, it can unload cargo from an autonomous vehicle, carry it directly into a store, and complete the shelf stocking process," Yu explained. "This is Neolix's complete product blueprint — 10 million autonomous vehicles plus 100 million robots."
Neolix's confidence stems from its accumulation of real-world data. Yu stated that the company now possesses the world's most extensive road-test dataset and the largest-scale automated data collection infrastructure. It is currently building a data architecture layer designed to support large model training. "The data flywheel gives us full confidence to extend from autonomous driving into embodied intelligence and the robotics domain."
Yu also outlined Neolix's vision: building a globalized autonomous logistics infrastructure — from farm to table, from factory to the user's doorstep. Autonomous vehicles handle transportation while robots manage loading, unloading, and handling, comprehensively covering millions of scenarios across planned and on-demand logistics, serving small and medium-sized merchants and individual consumers alike.
It was also revealed that Neolix has already deployed in the UAE and several Southeast Asian countries overseas, and is currently expanding toward Saudi Arabia and Oman. The company expects to enter Portugal, the Netherlands, and Sweden this year. Yu believes Chinese autonomous vehicles hold a "cliff-edge advantage" in overseas markets. If robotic capabilities for loading, unloading, and handling are layered on top in the future, there is a genuine opportunity to reshape the global logistics infrastructure — a historic opportunity that this era has presented to China's autonomous vehicle and robotics industries.
