Motorists are advised to fill up their tanks now as fuel prices are poised for a substantial increase. The 18th price adjustment of the year is scheduled for 11:59 PM on September 11th, with expectations of a surge of nearly 0.30 yuan per liter.

Following the previous increase of over 0.29 yuan per liter, gasoline prices in 2026 have now risen 11 times, compared to only 5 reductions. Over the first eight months, cumulative price hikes have already surpassed 1.32 yuan per liter. This trend is set to continue as international crude oil prices jumped by more than 3.25% at the close of trading this morning, further amplifying today's projected increase.

Driven by the continued uptick in global oil prices, the crude oil change rate has now reached 5.89%. This indicates an expected upward adjustment of 330 yuan per ton, translating to an increase of 0.25 to 0.30 yuan per liter for gasoline and diesel at the pump tomorrow night. With less than 48 hours until the price hike takes effect, waiting until September 12th to refuel will mean paying the higher rates.

Once this increase is applied, the price of 95-octane gasoline is set to approach the "9 yuan era". Currently, after the last adjustment, most regions have already seen 95-octane prices climb to 8.60 yuan per liter. With an additional rise of nearly 0.30 yuan per liter tomorrow night, the day after will bring prices dangerously close to the psychological 9 yuan mark.
