The Ministry of Commerce has officially released the national list for the creation of digital trade demonstration zones, with 24 entities selected nationwide. Among them, the China (Guangxi) Pilot Free Trade Zone Nanning Area has been successfully included, making it the only cultivation target in Guangxi, which is expected to inject strong momentum into Nanning's high-level opening-up and high-quality development of the digital economy.

The thriving Nanning Area of the Pilot Free Trade Zone has deepened its focus on the digital trade sector in recent years, continuously consolidating its industrial foundation and steadily improving the quality and efficiency of digital trade development. In terms of institutional innovation, it has secured approvals for a batch of pilot programs in emerging digital trade formats, including data processing, cross-border e-commerce, telemedicine, distance education, gaming services, cross-border settlement, and cross-border manufacturing, thereby building a diversified and innovative digital trade development system.

The computing infrastructure has also been further strengthened with the completion of the Wuxiang Yungu Intelligent Computing Industrial Park, which houses a 5,000P intelligent computing cluster, establishing the highest-level and largest-scale computing base in Guangxi. Following the launch of the Nanning international communication gateway hub, data transmission speeds between Nanning and Hanoi have increased nearly fivefold, effectively opening a high-speed digital channel connecting to ASEAN.

Additionally, leveraging the advantages of the China-ASEAN cooperation platform, the area has been continuously aggregating digital industry resources such as artificial intelligence. Currently, the Nanning AI Center and its supporting parks have signed contracts for 102 domestic AI projects and attracted 19 foreign-funded AI enterprises, highlighting a growing clustering effect in digital industry cooperation with ASEAN.

It is noted that the cultivation period for national digital trade demonstration zones spans two years. The Nanning Area of the Pilot Free Trade Zone will strictly adhere to the demonstration zone construction standards, persisting with institutional innovation as the core, opening-up as the driving force, and the deep integration of the digital and real economies as the main focus. It will actively pursue pilot policies and reforms in key areas such as cross-border data flow, upgrading cross-border e-commerce, exporting digital content, and cross-border digital services. By continuously improving the digital trade development ecosystem, it aims to build a high-level digital trade hub that radiates across the country and connects ASEAN, contributing Nanning's strength to the innovative development of digital trade at both regional and national levels.
