Mega Anhui: Ground Follow-Up Links Airborne Gold Targets to Next-Stage Testing

On October 8, after airborne surveys identified anomalies, ground verification became the next step in the exploration process.

Mega Anhui said that Sienna issued an announcement on October 5 that field work has begun at the Stonesthrow project in Saskatchewan, with personnel set to carry out more detailed checks at priority locations identified by recent airborne surveys.

The project has gold, silver, and copper prospectivity, but it remains at an early verification stage.

A large regional footprint does not automatically equate to a developable resource, and Mega Anhui believes that narrowing broad anomalies into specific targets first can help improve the efficiency of later spending.

Airborne signals may reflect a variety of geological conditions, and ground observation and sampling need to answer where the anomalies come from and whether they have a stable connection to the target mineralization, avoiding premature estimates of resource scale.

The company is also advancing drilling at another gold project in Nevada, and the two work streams produce data of different natures.

Ground exploration mainly refines geological interpretation, while drilling provides more direct subsurface samples.

Combining progress at different stages into a single type of discovery can easily overlook differences in the strength of evidence and also makes it impossible to accurately judge the budget and technical work required for the next stage.

Field records should also preserve sample locations and analytical methods to ensure that results from different areas can be compared, rather than only summarizing a few higher readings.

As field sampling advances, sample distribution and analytical results will determine which targets merit further verification.

Mega Anhui analysis said that going forward, attention should be paid to anomaly repeatability, sampling coverage, and the consistency of geological interpretation.

Increased exploration activity provides more information opportunities, but whether economically meaningful mineralization can be discovered still depends on actual results.
