Pony.ai has released its 2025 Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Report, outlining solid financial growth, rapid fleet expansion and stepped-up sustainability efforts.
Financial & Operational Highlights • Revenue reached USD 90.00 million, a 20.0% year-on-year increase. • Robotaxi services generated USD 16.60 million, up 128.6% from 2024. • R&D expenditure rose to USD 217.40 million, with R&D staff making up 44.6% of total headcount. • Robotaxi fleet expanded to 1,159 vehicles; the robotruck fleet stood at roughly 200 units, including Level 4 driverless trucks. • Pony.ai’s autonomous driving safety performance exceeded that of human drivers by more than tenfold, with zero responsible major safety incidents recorded in 2025.
Governance & Compliance • The seven-member board—comprising two executive, two non-executive and three independent directors—oversees ESG strategy through dedicated committees. • 100% of directors completed ESG and anti-corruption training; no corruption litigation was recorded. • A whistle-blower mechanism with a 72-hour response pledge is in place, supported by an Ethics Committee and internal audit functions.
Safety & Quality Management • Certified to ISO 26262 (functional safety), ISO 27001 (information security) and ISO 20000 (IT service management); Guangzhou, Beijing and Shanghai units hold ISO 9001 quality certifications. • Over 20 safety redundancies are built into the Level 4 “Virtual Driver” system; more than 1,000 automated monitoring mechanisms run in parallel with driving functions. • All employees completed safety training, meetings, inspections and emergency drills during the year.
Environmental Performance & Targets • Total Scope 1+2 greenhouse-gas emissions were 20,347 tCO₂e, equal to 226.08 tCO₂e per USD million of revenue. • Energy use intensity stood at 782.71 MWh per USD million of revenue; water-use intensity was 96.73 tonnes per USD million of revenue. • Pony.ai aims to cut combined Scope 1+2 emissions intensity by 3% from 2024 levels by 2026 and raise the share of electric trucks in its fleet to roughly 30% by 2026 (2025: >25%). • No environmental fines or penalties were incurred.
Innovation & Partnerships • Debuted 7th-generation Robotaxi models with Toyota, BAIC and GAC; began fully driverless commercial services in China’s Tier-1 cities. • Introduced a 4th-generation electric robotruck platform in partnership with SANY, targeting mass deployment from 2026. • Licensing and Applications unit delivered autonomous domain controllers at six times 2024 volume, supplying clients in low-speed logistics and robotics. • Expanded international presence to eight countries, securing agreements with Uber, Stellantis, ComfortDelGro and Qatar’s Mowasalat.
Social Impact • Conducted 54 science-outreach and community events, reaching over 123,000 people. • Volunteer activities totaled 89 hours, including educational support for students in rural China and donations to homeless children in the United States.
Intellectual Property • The company’s portfolio includes around 600 patents, 1,045 trademarks and 206 software copyrights. In 2025, 75 new patents were granted.
