A group of horses became stranded on a sandbar in the middle of a river in Dongguang Town, Wangqing County, Jilin Province, on July 30, after a sudden rise in water levels prevented them from returning to shore while grazing. A witness reported that a local resident used a drone to airlift and drop hay to the stranded animals to keep them fed.
On July 31, the Dongguang Town government responded, stating that after the river water receded, the horses were safely retrieved and brought home by their owner. No horses were killed or injured during the incident.
