CHINASOFT INT'L (00354) announced that it has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Shenzhen Kaihong Digital Industry Development Co., Ltd. ("Kaihong") and Beijing ESWIN Computing Technology Co., Ltd. ("ESWIN Computing") to jointly establish a dual open-source ecosystem centered on "OpenHarmony + RISC-V."
The three parties will leverage their complementary strengths: CHINASOFT INT'L brings software application, system integration, and industry implementation capabilities; Kaihong contributes its expertise in OpenHarmony OS development and distributed technologies; while ESWIN Computing provides RISC-V chip and customized solutions. Together, they aim to accelerate the large-scale adoption of "OpenHarmony + RISC-V" products and technologies across digital economy scenarios, empowering industrial digital transformation.
Technically, the collaboration will focus on deep adaptation and synergy between "RISC-V chips + KaihongOS," modeled after the "Wintel" framework. A joint technical team will be formed to work on kernel adaptation, driver development, performance optimization, security hardening, and AI integration, creating a stable and efficient software-hardware foundation.
Product-wise, the partners will jointly develop edge computing solutions (e.g., transportation MEC, education IWB, industrial AOI) and chip-based products for smart homes, robotics, and industrial applications, gradually expanding to "RISC-V + KaihongOS" powered smart terminals.
Market expansion will begin with smart transportation before extending to government services, public welfare, and industrial sectors, while simultaneously exploring overseas opportunities to enhance the global competitiveness of China's dual open-source ecosystem.
Ecologically, the collaboration will involve participation in open-source community building and technical standardization, promoting interface compatibility and resource sharing. Through forums and developer conferences, the alliance will cultivate an "OpenHarmony + RISC-V" industrial ecosystem to lower innovation barriers.
The dual open-source ecosystem represents a complete domestic technology chain from chip architecture to OS to applications, challenging the global dominance of X86 and ARM architectures. By aligning with market demands, it fosters deep collaboration among chip, software, and terminal developers to create new scenarios and business models for the AIoT era.
Leveraging RISC-V's global momentum, the partnership aims to replicate the success of Wintel (Windows+Intel) and AA (Android+ARM) models, establishing a competitive third-generation mainstream ecosystem to support China's digital economy with independent technological capabilities.
