Acotec flags up to RMB80.90 million H1 2026 loss after scrapping U.S. trial

Acotec Scientific Holdings Limited (ACOTEC-B) has issued a profit warning, projecting a net loss of no more than RMB80.90 million for the six months ended 30 June 2026. The company posted a net profit of approximately RMB88.60 million in the comparable period of 2025, implying a year-on-year swing of up to RMB169.50 million.

Management attributes the anticipated downturn chiefly to a one-off, non-cash impairment and related expenses totaling about RMB150.80 million. These charges stem from the discontinuation of the U.S. clinical trial for AcoArt Litos® Paclitaxel Coated Percutaneous Transluminal Angioplasty Balloon Catheter. The decision followed an internal review of product pipeline priorities and evolving U.S. market conditions that may constrain the product’s profitability.

Acotec stated that resources freed from the terminated program will be redirected toward alternative overseas development projects, which are currently under exploration with commercial partners. Detailed interim results are scheduled for release by the end of August 2026.

Investors are advised to exercise caution when dealing in the company’s securities until the finalized interim figures are published.
