On March 16, 2026, NVIDIA announced its space computing service plan at the GTC conference. The NVIDIA Space-1 Vera Rubin module, IGX Thor, and Jetson Orin platforms are specifically designed for environments with constraints on size, weight, and power. They can deliver data center-level performance and edge AI inference for orbital data centers, geospatial intelligence, and autonomous space operations.

The NVIDIA Space-1 Vera Rubin module is the latest component of NVIDIA's space-focused accelerated computing platform. Compared to the NVIDIA H100 GPU, the Rubin GPU on this module can provide up to 25 times more AI computing power for space-based inference, thereby offering next-generation computational capabilities for Orbital Data Centers (ODC), advanced geospatial intelligence processing, and autonomous space operations.

"Space computing, the final frontier, has arrived. As we deploy satellite constellations and explore deeper into space, intelligence must exist wherever data is generated," said Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of NVIDIA. "AI processing across space and terrestrial systems enables real-time sensing, decision-making, and autonomous operation, transforming orbital data centers into tools for exploration and discovery, and spacecraft into autonomous navigation systems. Together with our partners, we will extend NVIDIA's reach beyond Earth, boldly bringing intelligence to places never before possible."
