Data from the China Automotive Power Battery Industry Innovation Alliance reveals that in June, the combined production of power and energy storage batteries in China reached 206.0 GWh, representing a month-on-month increase of 7.5% and a year-on-year surge of 59.5%.

For the first half of the year, cumulative production of power and storage batteries in China totaled 1068.9 GWh, reflecting a cumulative year-on-year growth of 53.3%.

Sales Performance for June

In June, total sales of power and energy storage batteries in China amounted to 196.0 GWh, up 7.6% month-on-month and 49.1% year-on-year.

Within this total, power battery sales were 133.4 GWh, accounting for 68.1% of total sales, with a month-on-month rise of 5.0% and a year-on-year increase of 41.8%.

Sales of energy storage batteries reached 62.6 GWh, making up 31.9% of total sales, showing a month-on-month growth of 13.4% and a significant year-on-year jump of 67.5%.

Year-to-Date Sales Figures

From January to June, cumulative sales of power and storage batteries reached 979.4 GWh, a cumulative year-on-year increase of 48.6%.

Of this, cumulative power battery sales were 661.3 GWh, constituting 67.5% of total sales and showing a cumulative year-on-year growth of 36.2%.

Cumulative energy storage battery sales were 318.1 GWh, representing 32.5% of total sales, with a substantial cumulative year-on-year increase of 83.4%.

Export Statistics for June

In June, combined exports of power and energy storage batteries from China totaled 36.2 GWh, increasing by 23.7% month-on-month and 48.7% year-on-year, accounting for 18.5% of the month's sales.

Exports of power batteries specifically amounted to 25.5 GWh, representing 70.3% of total exports, with a month-on-month increase of 26.6% and a year-on-year rise of 60.8%.

Exports of energy storage batteries were 10.7 GWh, making up 29.7% of total exports, showing month-on-month growth of 17.3% and year-on-year growth of 26.1%.

Cumulative Export Data

For the first six months of the year, cumulative exports of power and storage batteries reached 181.3 GWh, a cumulative year-on-year increase of 42.5%, which accounted for 18.5% of the cumulative sales volume.

Cumulative power battery exports were 122.7 GWh, constituting 67.7% of total exports, with a cumulative year-on-year growth of 50.3%.

Cumulative energy storage battery exports were 58.6 GWh, representing 32.3% of total exports, with a cumulative year-on-year increase of 28.5%.

Vehicle Installation Volumes

In June, the volume of power batteries installed in vehicles within China was 76.5 GWh, up 6.4% month-on-month and 31.5% year-on-year.

Within this, installations of ternary (NCM/NCA) batteries were 12.7 GWh, accounting for 16.5% of total installations, showing a month-on-month decrease of 5.5% but a year-on-year increase of 18.1%.

Installations of lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries were 63.7 GWh, constituting 83.3% of total installations, with month-on-month growth of 9.2% and year-on-year growth of 34.4%.

Year-to-Date Installation Figures

For the first half of the year, cumulative installations of power batteries in vehicles reached 335.6 GWh, a cumulative year-on-year increase of 12.0%.

Cumulative installations of ternary batteries were 63.4 GWh, accounting for 18.9% of total installations, with a cumulative year-on-year growth of 14.2%.

Cumulative installations of lithium iron phosphate batteries were 272.0 GWh, representing 81.0% of total installations, with a cumulative year-on-year increase of 11.5%.
