The China Association for Public Companies recently convened a closed-door exchange meeting in Beijing focused on sustainable information disclosure and climate transition plans for listed firms. The event brought together expert representatives from the China Securities Regulatory Commission, the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission, the UK Financial Conduct Authority, the British Embassy in China, the International Transition Plan Network, the UK Transition Finance Committee, the London Stock Exchange, as well as Fidelity International, SynTao Green Finance, and various other domestic and international regulators, exchanges, international organizations, professional institutions, and listed companies.

The meeting centered on deepening dialogue regarding sustainable disclosure standards and climate transition practices, with discussions spanning multiple dimensions including policy frameworks, international trends, investor assessment, and corporate implementation. Participants exchanged cutting-edge insights and practical experiences on topics such as the latest progress of global major markets adopting ISSB standards, transition finance policy directions, credibility assessment of climate transition plans, and the integration of sustainable development into corporate strategy.

Representatives from listed companies including Zijin Mining Group and Haier Smart Home shared their respective explorations and reflections on advancing the synergistic coexistence of environmental benefits, social value, and economic returns through climate transition practices. Attendees unanimously agreed that in addressing the global challenge of climate change, listed companies should take proactive action by deeply embedding sustainable development principles into strategic management and daily operations.

The meeting recognized that sustainable development information disclosure by A-share listed companies is rapidly shifting from an optional exercise to a mandatory requirement, gradually deepening from mere data reporting toward strategic management integration. Moving forward, it was agreed that enhanced cooperation should continue to promote mutual recognition of disclosure standards, with long-term capital serving as a guide to facilitate the green transformation of listed companies. In this process, establishing an efficient and pragmatic dialogue platform is of significant importance for building consensus and responding to market concerns.

Going forward, the China Association for Public Companies will continue to refine its sustainable development work framework, creating an efficient communication platform among regulatory authorities, investment institutions, rating agencies, and listed companies. This initiative aims to assist listed companies in transmitting value and robustly managing risks amid global climate governance and green transformation processes, thereby contributing to the high-quality development of the capital market.
