Zijin Mining Opens Over 3% Higher After H1 Net Profit Surges 68% to RMB 39.2 Billion

Shares of Zijin Mining (02899) opened more than 3% higher on Monday, extending gains to trade up 3.42% at HK$39.88 by mid-morning, with turnover reaching HK$183 million.

The rally followed the company's interim results release, which showed revenue of RMB 194.178 billion for the first half, up 15.78% year-on-year, while net profit attributable to shareholders jumped 68.17% to RMB 39.17 billion. The board has proposed a cash dividend of RMB 4.2 per ten shares (tax inclusive).

According to the company's announcement, gold production reached 47 tonnes during the period, up 13% year-on-year, while copper output stood at 534,000 tonnes, up 5% excluding the Kamoa impact. Zinc (lead) production totalled 200,000 tonnes and silver output reached 229 tonnes.

The "third growth pillar" lithium segment has begun contributing meaningfully, with lithium carbonate equivalent production surging to 44,000 tonnes. Production capacity for strategic rare and precious metals including molybdenum, tungsten, and tin has also been steadily ramped up, while comprehensive utilisation of sulfur resources such as pyrite concentrate and sulfuric acid has delivered notable efficiency gains, emerging as a fresh profit driver for the company.
