The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has emphasized seizing the opportunities presented by technological innovations like artificial intelligence. It advocates for supporting the development of industries such as AI chips and optoelectronics, promoting the coordinated advancement of hardware, software, standards, and patent portfolios to accelerate the high-quality growth of the electronic information industry.

The remarks were made during a key symposium on proposals and suggestions in the fields of electronic information and digital-intelligent transformation, chaired by Vice Minister Xiong Jijun in Beijing on July 8th. The meeting focused on the handling of key proposals concerning independent innovation in chips and algorithms, the construction of optoelectronic industry clusters, and corporate digital-intelligent transformation.

The meeting highlighted the need to enhance political awareness and fully recognize the significant role of proposal handling in promoting scientific decision-making and effective policy implementation. It stressed establishing and practicing a correct view of political achievements, treating proposal handling as a crucial opportunity to address industry pain points and serve the public interest, thereby improving the quality of proposal-related work.

Furthermore, the meeting called for a focus on achieving tangible results, integrating proposal handling into practical work to transform suggestions into concrete and effective measures. It emphasized strengthening communication and collaboration, leveraging the strengths of all parties to form a joint force in advancing new industrialization and collectively building a favorable development ecosystem.

The meeting also underscored that integrating informatization and industrialization should be treated as a strategic task and practical approach for promoting new industrialization. It advocated for a holistic advancement of digital transformation, networked collaboration, and intelligent upgrading in the manufacturing sector.
