On December 11, Hang Seng Indexes Company announced that the Hang Seng Stock Connect Software & Semiconductor Index will be renamed as the Hang Seng Stock Connect Software Theme Index, with an updated compilation methodology. The number of constituents will be fixed at 40.

Four stocks—CHINA LIT (00772), QUNABOX GROUP (00917), MEITU (01357), and MOBVISTA (01860)—will be added, while ASMPT (00522), SMIC (00981), and HUA HONG SEMI (01347) will be removed. The renaming and constituent adjustments will take effect on December 16, 2025. The current number of constituents remains at 32.

Additional updates to the compilation methodology include revisions to the index objective, selection scope, industry requirements, and constituent selection criteria. New additions include theme requirements, buffer zones, and fast-entry rules.
