Wuxi AppTec has announced that the security issue affecting its DNA Encoded Library (DEL) platform has been brought under control, following a recent cybersecurity incident that resulted in unauthorized access to certain data within the platform. The DEL platform serves as a specialized encoded chemical compound library utilized for early-stage discovery projects.
The company immediately activated its emergency response procedures, engaging leading external cybersecurity experts and outside legal counsel to contain the situation and launch an investigation into the incident. There is currently no evidence suggesting that any other systems have been impacted by the breach.
Wuxi AppTec has proactively reached out to clients in its biology business segment whose data files were affected. To date, the company has found no indications that any data has been publicly disclosed, misused, or otherwise improperly exploited. The cybersecurity event has not disrupted the company's normal operations, and its ability to serve customers remains fully intact, with all information technology systems, including the DEL platform, functioning normally.
The company places the highest priority on data security and is working closely with cybersecurity specialists and external legal advisors to complete the investigation and strengthen system defenses. Additional security measures have already been implemented to further safeguard the systems, and the company will take further action as the investigation progresses.
