A new workstation, built through a joint effort by Guangxi’s market regulation bureau, the Higher People’s Court, the Department of Justice, and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Guangxi Sub-council, was officially launched during a recent seminar on overseas ASEAN intellectual property protection cases along the New Western Land-Sea Corridor.

This milestone marks a significant advancement in Guangxi’s multi-faceted mechanism for resolving intellectual property disputes, providing crucial support for building a collaborative IP protection framework aimed at ASEAN countries. The workstation will operate under the principles of “lawful fairness, mediation priority, and efficient convenience,” focusing on overcoming key challenges in IP dispute resolution.

It will integrate administrative protection, arbitration, mediation, and international commercial services to form a comprehensive service chain covering the provincial, city, and county levels, connecting administrative protection with diversified dispute resolution. The workstation initially coordinates 14 co-building units, creating a four-part collaborative structure of “administrative protection, arbitration services, trade promotion support, and professional mediation.”

In the area of administrative protection, IP protection centers in Guangxi, Nanning, Liuzhou, Fangchenggang, and the Tengxian Ceramics IP Rapid Rights Protection Center have established a three-tier rapid collaborative protection network. This network offers innovators one-stop rights protection services, including litigation and mediation interfaces, dispute consultation, and rapid mediation.

For arbitration services, the Nanning and Beihai Arbitration Commissions have formed a north-south alliance to achieve full coverage of IP arbitration services across the region. On the trade promotion front, the CCPIT (Guangxi) Pilot Free Trade Zone Comprehensive Service Center, along with the CCPIT branches in Nanning, Liuzhou, and Guilin, leverage the ASEAN trade promotion network to provide cross-border IP dispute mediation and consulting services for enterprises.

In professional mediation, the Guangxi Commercial Mediation Center focuses on resolving IP disputes at the front end, promoting efficient conflict resolution. The workstation will also deeply integrate artificial intelligence, utilizing the Guangxi IP Protection AI assistant “Guixiaozhi.” This AI integrates over 5.6 million valid patents from China and ASEAN countries, 89,000 integrated circuit layout designs, and a database of overseas IP dispute cases.

It will enable functions like intelligent infringement comparison, multilingual online consultations, and the intelligent generation of dispute resolution plans. Through digital means, the workstation aims to significantly reduce dispute resolution time and lower rights protection costs, offering innovators a more convenient and efficient service experience.

Looking ahead, the workstation will further strengthen cross-border collaboration, helping to build a market-oriented, law-based, and internationalized business environment, and reinforcing the IP protection network for enterprise innovation and development.
