Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited officially launched the five-year RMB government bond futures contract on August 3.
Speaking at the listing ceremony, China Securities Regulatory Commission Chairman Wu Qing stated that the focus will be on "ecological synergy" to create greater space for institutional collaboration and talent exchange.
He noted that Hong Kong has long served as a "bridgehead" for mainland financial institutions to expand internationally. The regulator will support more high-quality 证券基金 companies in establishing operations and growing their businesses in Hong Kong, helping them to go global, build world-class investment banks and investment institutions, and provide more efficient and tailored financial services for the global layout of Chinese enterprises and investors.
Wu Qing also mentioned plans to study the expansion of the scope of mutual recognition of professional qualifications for securities and futures practitioners between the two regions, thereby facilitating the employment and professional practice of talented individuals across both markets.
