Regulator Approves Huo Da's Appointment as China Merchants Bank Director

On September 23, the National Financial Regulatory Administration issued an official approval confirming Huo Da's qualification to serve as a director of China Merchants Bank Co., Ltd.

According to his resume, Huo Da was born in May 1968 and holds a doctorate in economics from the China Academy of Fiscal Sciences, formerly affiliated with the Ministry of Finance. He currently serves as the Party Secretary of China Merchants Financial Holdings Co., Ltd.

Huo Da's extensive career includes roles at the China Securities Regulatory Commission, where he held positions ranging from principal staff member and deputy division director to division director. He also served as assistant to the director of the CSRC's Shenzhen regulatory bureau, deputy inspector and deputy director of the market surveillance department, director of the corporate bond supervision department, and director of the research center. Additionally, he served as president of the Beijing Securities and Futures Research Institute, president of the China Securities Finance Research Institute, and a part-time member of the 17th issuance examination committee under the CSRC. Prior to his current role, he was the chairman and chief information officer of China Merchants Securities Co., Ltd., a company listed on both the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and the Shanghai Stock Exchange.
