WeRide-W (00800) rose more than 6%, gaining 5.94% to HK$20.52 at the time of writing, with a turnover of HK$854,200. The increase follows an announcement that the company and Uber have upgraded their strategic partnership. The two firms plan to deploy at least 1,200 Robotaxis across the Middle East by 2027, covering Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Riyadh. All 1,200 vehicles will be accessible to the public through the Uber app. Currently, WeRide and Uber are already operating fully driverless commercial Robotaxi services in Abu Dhabi and have launched public Robotaxi services in Dubai and Riyadh. Building on this existing operational foundation, both parties will continue to expand the Robotaxi fleet. Uber has committed to deploying additional Robotaxis upon securing key regulatory approvals and achieving operational milestones, including the commercial deployment of fully autonomous Robotaxi services in core urban areas of each city.
