During the 2026 Chengdu Motor Show, Byd Company Limited (SHE: 002594) unveiled its third-generation Tang SUV, a model that introduces a new technological aesthetic for the 8-series five-seat segment.

The third-generation Tang marks the industry's debut of the "Star Link Dual Screen" cockpit system, delivering an impressive 850 kilometers of pure electric range. The vehicle is equipped with the YunNian-A dual-chamber air suspension, intelligent all-wheel drive, and the DiPilot B advanced driver assistance system, forming a comprehensive new product matrix for the brand.

Embracing a future-oriented design language, the third-generation Tang features clean body lines complemented by a subtly sloping roofline, injecting a sense of sporty sophistication into this five-meter-plus SUV. The high-integration full-width front light bar seamlessly merges low and high beams, a flowing starry-sky lighting effect, and the signature three-dimensional dragon whisker styling into a single striking strip.

Measuring 5,045mm in length, 1,980mm in width, and 1,740mm in height with a wheelbase of 2,950mm, the third-generation Tang offers generous interior space. Second-row legroom exceeds 1,000mm, while the rear seatbacks recline to a comfortable 130-degree angle.

The centerpiece of the cabin is the "Star Link Dual Screen" setup. The upper display is a 35.4-inch panoramic "Star Ring Screen" that replaces the traditional instrument cluster and heads-up display, showing essential information such as speed, navigation, battery level, and road conditions. Below it sits a seamless 30-inch panoramic display screen, manufactured as a single integrated panel without any visible seams.

Underneath the sleek exterior, the third-generation Tang rides on the YunNian-A dual-chamber air suspension combined with a front double-wishbone and rear multi-link independent suspension setup. The intelligent all-wheel-drive system automatically assesses road conditions and distributes power accordingly.

Powered by Byd Company Limited's second-generation Blade Battery and flash-charging technology, the vehicle achieves a class-leading 850km pure electric range. For driver assistance, it features the DiPilot B system with lidar, providing both urban navigation assistance and smart parking as dual safety nets.

With the arrival of the third-generation Tang, the Tang family now establishes a dual-flagship lineup. The original Tang serves as a seven-seat full-size SUV designed for large families and commercial purposes, while the third-generation Tang positions itself as a technology-focused five-seat flagship catering to the quality daily needs of urban, upwardly mobile families.

According to sources at the event, the third-generation Tang is expected to hit the market in the fourth quarter of this year.
