A report released on Wednesday revealed that Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. ranked first in South Korea's corporate donation rankings for the first nine months of 2025, despite a year-on-year decline in contributions.
According to data from industry tracker CEO Score, the South Korean tech giant donated 110.4 billion won (approximately $75.5 million) from January to September, marking a 22% decrease compared to the same period last year.
Following closely were Korea Electric Power Corporation (109.2 billion won) and Hyundai Motor Company (106.9 billion won).
Meanwhile, SK hynix contributed 5.9 billion won, a 44% increase year-on-year.
CEO Score noted, "Amid growing global economic uncertainties, some major corporations have reduced their donations."
The tracker also reported that as of September, 218 of South Korea's top 500 companies—which disclosed donation data in quarterly financial reports—collectively contributed 1.1 trillion won, up 3.6% from the previous year.
