Musk says SpaceX Starmind AI satellites will outpower the International Space Station

SpaceX CEO Elon Musk believes the power capacity of the company's Starmind AI computing satellite constellation will exceed that of the International Space Station.

On Thursday local time, Musk reposted a user's post on X that compared the scale of SpaceX satellites. Musk said: "Each SpaceX Starmind superintelligent spacecraft will have more than 250 kilowatts of solar power generation capacity, about 20% more than the International Space Station."

Musk elaborated further on his views in response to another post by Aaron Burnett, founder of investment firm Mach33. In that post, Burnett predicted that using Nvidia's NV72 AI racks, Starmind AI satellites could generate up to $50 million in revenue, with "token prices only one-third of the current Grok 4.7 price."

Musk shared his view, saying he is "cautiously optimistic" that SpaceX can operate a "SpaceX version of VR72" at an average power of nearly 250 kilowatts, which would mean peak power about 10% higher.

The billionaire added that if this goal is achieved, it would be of great significance and could potentially be applied to ground-based AI computing. Musk said in his response: "Building a close partnership and joint design with Nvidia's excellent engineering team is key to achieving this goal."
